  • Article I, Section 9, Clause 7 of the UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION says: “No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law.

  • Think of it like this. Every trillion, every billion, every THOUSAND dollars we slice from the debt lowers borrowing costs, decreases annual inflation, and raises the overall value of the US dollar- which fights prices at the pump, in the grocery store, and in every place you spend and save by making your money stretch more and lowering borrowing costs which affects every business in the US thereby lowering PRICES at the same time- the economic boom could be profound.

  • There is a history of tax credits being distributed more immediately than once a year. Child tax credits were disbursed quarterly during Covid. Unemployment insurance is disbursed weekly. Many food assistance programs are distributed monthly. There’s no reason to think that legitimate means of social welfare wouldn’t have an immediate impact.

  • Trump should not give out $5,000 to eve eh adult in the United States. Economist say it will raise inflation prices like the Biden stimulus checks. It would be a short term gain long term loss. If he sends them out, what are people going to do when they spend $5,000 and inflation goes beyond what they can afford. Trump needs to look at other avenues like tax cuts or making the tax cuts in the “Big beautiful bill” permanent. $5,000 to every adult is not feasible.

  • Reducing taxes achieves the exact same benefit as just giving out money to Americans, but without the long term inflation that will come from immediate universal payments (the same inflation which occurred during COVID stimulus checks). This is especially true if trump claims the money for the payments will come from tax revenue. It makes more sense to just cut taxes instead of having the money flow from American’s pockets, to the government, then back to the same Americans. Finally, this process may not even occur, since it relies on congressional approval. That may not be possible, especially when this idea projects Republican Party weakness, as it makes it feel like votes need to be bought and not earned, which may make republican congressmen hesitant to approve of such payments.

  • As we saw with the Covid direct payments, lots of people just use those payments on fun toys, like dirt bikes, or something like that rather than actually helping them live and as a result of that, we did see an increase in the rate of inflation, which is why I don’t support the government just handing out money other programs like snap benefits, which allow families to directly buy food at a lower price direct that payment towards more productive things in the economy, like housing and food and security rather than toys like dirt bikes

  • By investing in defense spending, we’re only going to work with American companies in American technology and by continuing to develop American technology in American defense, we can then share that technology with our allies and with the world and benefit from that both through greater allies and also through selling to other countries and generating more revenue

  • These payments will reduce the national debt. With a lower national debt we will have lower national debt, meaning we have less debt to pay interest on, as I said early that is currently the government’s highest expense. So by making these payments the government will same money in the long run leading to less need for increased government revenue which would have likely came from taxing citizens.
