Terms of Service

Welcome to Agora. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of agoragame.com and the Agora mobile application (together, the "Service"), operated by Agora Intelligence Ltd ("Agora", "we", "our", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using it, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide at sign-up is accurate.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Cheat, manipulate scores, or tamper with gameplay, leaderboards, or other players' data
Access the Service through automated means or attempt to bypass security controls
Harass, abuse, or harm other players, or submit unlawful, hateful, or infringing content
Reverse-engineer, disrupt, or overload the Service or its infrastructure

4. User Content

You retain ownership of the reasoning, answers, and other content you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and display that content to operate and improve the Service, including in aggregated, anonymized form. You are responsible for the content you submit and confirm you have the right to share it.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You may not post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, or that incites violence, and you may not use the Service to abuse other players. Every player can flag content and block other users from inside the app. Blocking a user immediately removes their content from your feed and notifies our review team. We review reports and act on objectionable content within 24 hours by removing the content and ejecting the user who provided it. 5. The Game and Scores

Agora is a game of reasoning and opinion. Scores, rankings, and any in-game currency or "R" (Reasoning Dollars) and chips have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money, and may be adjusted, reset, or recalculated to preserve fair play and the integrity of the Service. Chips cannot be bought, sold, transferred, redeemed, or withdrawn. Agora+ subscribers may earn additional chips through extra play (see section 6), but a subscription never buys chips directly and does not give chips any monetary value.

6. Agora+ Subscription

Agora+ is an optional auto-renewing monthly subscription offered in the Agora iOS app. It currently includes unlimited Ask VOR questions and extra replies in VOR debates. The features included may change over time; we will not remove a core feature during a billing period you have already paid for.

The price is shown in the app before you confirm. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically each month at the same price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store account settings; cancelling stops future renewals and you keep Agora+ until the end of the period you have paid for.

Purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement and Apple's media services terms. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under consumer law. Deleting your Agora account does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel it in your App Store account settings.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, text, graphics, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third parties such as Supabase (database and authentication), ElevenLabs (voice transcription), Apple (App Store payments), and RevenueCat (subscription management). Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' terms where applicable.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any content is accurate.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service or other users.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. The date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision; continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
